Abstract

This research report presents shipment volume forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese desktop PC industry. The report includes desktop PC shipment value, ASP, shipment share by maker, and product mix analysis. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with desktop PC makers. The report finds that the worldwide desktop PC industry sees its annual growth rate stagnating in 2008. Due to the facts that the peak season effect has not yet lived up to expectations, and the global economic situations triggered by the subprime crisis continue to remain unclear, along with the prospect of economic downturns, Taiwanese desktop PC industry is forecasted to witness negative sequential growth in the fourth quarter of 2008.
